How It Works

1. Choose an organization to donate to from our list of charities.

2. Check our guidelines on what to donate.

3. Fill out a donation application or call our toll free number at
   1-800-409-3267. Generally, you will be able to speak to a live donor representative, seven days a week (Pacific Time: Monday through Friday, 5am to 9pm, and Saturday and Sunday, 8:30am to 4:30pm). Do call anytime, and we will call you right back.

4. We will send you a couple of forms for your signature. Those forms and your signed title are the authorization we need to transfer ownership of your vehicle.

5. If donating a vehicle, a qualified transportation company comes at your convenience to pick it up.

6. Your receipt will be a formal letter of thanks certifying that you have donated the item. This letter shows the IRS that you are authorized for a charitable tax deduction. In most cases we can include a Kelley Blue Book printout describing your vehicle's value. This may be used as one indicator in helping you to determine the fair market value of your donated car. Your tax professional, however, is your best source of information regarding charitable tax deductions.

What Happens to My Donation?

In most all cases donated items are sold by well established vehicle auctions to the highest bidder. In that way delay is minimized and the chance of fraud is eliminated.
